At Yarra Valley Psychology, we provide clients with continuity of care beyond the 10 sessions of a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP). This allows clients to access more sessions than their MHCP would normally allow in a calendar year. This service is provided by our provisional psychologists and counsellors, who also make up the rest of our intake team. As part of their internship/placement they are required to complete a certain number of contact hours with real clients to gain practical experience in the field of mental health.
Provisional psychologists are qualified psychology graduates who are completing their final registration internship to become a fully registered psychologist.
Provisional counsellors are also completing the final requirements of their studies to become a fully qualified counsellor, but this is completed within the final semester of their course.
